Smaller than small
LaserJob is able to laser drill smallest boreholes in dependence of the material thickness. We laser drill in stainless steel material with a thickness of 0,75mm (0.0029 inch) boreholes in a diameter of 30-40µm (0.0011-0.0015 inch) with an accuracy of ± 2µm (0.000078 inch). With this guaranteed high precision our laser technology finds application for defined gas flow rates or liquid flow rates.

What materials and material thicknesses can we treat?

Materials which are mentioned in the graph are our standard materials which we have on stock. Special materials are available on request. Besides stainless steel materials with special material properties we can deliver materials with e.g. higher tensile strength or higher fine grain degree.

How can we prove the tolerances of the borehole? 

We have extensive measuring equipment available. An image dimension measurement system IM6700 measures with programmable transmitted- or reflected light, with a position accuracy of xy ± 0.7µm.  A measuring document is generated after the measurement in form of a certificate. A 3D digital microscope VHX-1000 can be used to measure the height and the deviations of the height. A coordinate measuring system detects on an area of 600 x 600 mm with a precision of 1.4 µm + 5L/1000 µm the position and contour of the borehole.


What is the smallest borehole which we can produce? 

We produce in dependence of the material and material thickness boreholes with an aspect ratio of 1:25. Please contact us for further information.
